เมื่อวันที่ 27 มีนาคม 2551 นายแก้วขวัญ วัชโรทัย เลขาธิการพระราชวัง เป็นประธานในการเปิดงาน Bangkok International Motor Show 2008 พร้อมนายสุวิทย์ คุณกิตติ รองนายกรัฐมนตรี นายนินนาท ไชยธีรภิญโญ นายกกิตติมศักดิ์ สมาคมยานยนต์ไทย ในโอกาสนี้ยังได้เยี่ยมชมงานนิทรรศการผลงานวิจัยและพัฒนาของศูนย์เทคโนโลยี อิเล็กทรอนิกส์และคอมพิวเตอร์แห่งชาติ (เนคเทค) โดยโปรแกรมระบบขนส่งและจราจรอัจฉริยะ ITS for modern and Diverse Society - ใช้ชีวิตอย่างฉลาดด้วยเทคโนโลยี ITS โดยมีงานนิทรรศการที่น่าสนใจ แบบ่งออกเป็น 4 โซน
